Hi Antonio,
Your pluy-in sounds good and I'd be very happy to use it.

When I try to install Joomdle on Joomla, I get the message

JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.

and the error

Unable to detect manifest file.

when I try installing directly from the Joomla directory available when log-in as administrator.

Uploading the package file is not successful either, no matter if it is zipped or unzipped.

Any idea?

Hi.

You need to unzip package, and then install joomdle-joomla-package.zip

I just installed on a test Joomla 3.9.25 site, and it worked just fine. Also, nobody else reported similiar problems, so it seems something specific to your setup.
Make sure that you are installing joomdle-joomla-package.zip package.

Hi again,

I opened a ticked at my hosting provider tmd to solve this problem.
Here is there answer:

Thank you for your patience.
Despite our best efforts, we were, unfortunately, unable to resolve the reported issue and install Joomdle for you. As this is the case, we kindly ask that you contact the extension's vendor and ask them to provide further insight into the issue and update us with any instructions or documentation they might provide so we can further review this.

Hi.

Original poster did not write back. No other users have reported the issue and I cannot replicate it.
Did you unzip the package and try to install joomdle-joomla-package.zip? If that's the case, you can send us access info and we'll try to check what's going on.

Firstly, thanks for the quick reply.
"Did you unzip the package and try to install joomdle-joomla-package.zip?" - Yes, of course!
I suspect now there is a compatibility issue because it is for v3, and you wrote you tested in 3 months ago on 3.9.25, but I'm trying to install it on v4 beta 7, as some other extensions not yet upgraded for v4 do install and work fine. I hope Joomdle can be upgraded soon then. The attached file shows the error message I get.

Ah ok. Then you need to download the other package, the beta one for J4:
