How to delete users in Moodle without deleting them in Joomla ?

I was wondering what would be the best procedure to accomplish this ?

In my present setup, users are synchronized both ways and it is the desired procedure.

However exceptionally, I want to remove a couple test users from Moodle, but they should not be removed from Joomla.

Should I just deactivate "sync users to Joomla" temporarily while I do it, and then reactivate it once the procedure is done ?

Or is there a better and proper way to accomplish this ?

Yes, this is one way to do it, and it's the first thing I would think too.

Another way is to change auth method for the users, before deleting them. That way, Joomdle sync process would not kick in.
