Joomdle for Joomla1.6

Can I install joomdle on Joomla1.6? If this is not possible yet, can you give estimate when this will be possible?

We have not fully tested it on 1.6 yet. As for an estimate - the release candidate (RC1) for 1.6 is expected on Dec 13 and a stable version some time after that. Once, the stable version is available will we sit down and finalise the plans. Also given we are approaching xmas and new years, I think it would be safe to assume it will be at least 2 months if not longer.

If you have tried it already, please share your experiences and any issues that have arisen.

Any update on when Joomdle might be made compatible with Joomla 1.6?

As per the previous post, it would be at least 2 months post stable release. We are already testing it and making changes but it not something we wish to rush.

Also, part of the problem is that we are also "reliant" on 3rd party applications for integration. Joomdle integrates with Jomsocial, Community Builder, Virtuemart, Tienda, XMAP, and JoomlaXi's Multi-profile types. Non of these are ready for 1.6 yet and until they are 1.6 ready we cannot release a fully functioning 1.6 Joomdle.

As a result we need to choose between partial functionality on 1.6, wait until all the components are ready for 1.6 or somewhere in between.

So as you can see there are many things to consider and test before releasing Joomdle on 1.6. That said, if you are running 1.6 you can always test the current Joomdle as see what errors you uncover. This will certainly help us out.
